Terms of Service

Last updated: July 16, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using PermitPilot, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

PermitPilot is an AI-powered pre-submission tool that helps solar installers check jurisdiction requirements, flag risks, and build compliance checklists for residential solar permits. The service produces research reports and risk flags — it does not prepare, complete, or submit permit applications, produce plan sets, or provide licensed engineering services.

3. Important Disclaimer

PermitPilot is an assistive research tool, not a replacement for professional advice. AI-generated permit analysis may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for verifying all information with your local jurisdiction (AHJ) before submitting permits. We flag risks before you submit — we cannot and do not guarantee that any permit will be approved by your AHJ.

4. Account Terms

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You must be 18 years or older to use the service
  • One person or legal entity per account

5. Payment Terms

PermitPilot uses one-time payments processed via Stripe. You purchase report credits (a single permit report or a credit pack) as needed — there is no subscription, no recurring billing, and nothing to cancel. Purchased credits remain available on your account. Rejection of a permit by your AHJ is not grounds for a refund: the service provides pre-submission guidance, not an approval guarantee. Refunds for billing errors or undelivered reports are handled on a case-by-case basis.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or access the AI models
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Abuse the API with excessive or automated requests
  • Submit false or misleading project information

7. Intellectual Property

You own the permit analysis and documents generated for your projects. We retain ownership of the PermitPilot platform, design, and technology.

8. Limitation of Liability

PermitPilot is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from permit rejections, inaccurate analysis, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through Settings.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
